Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the World Glaucoma Projects Commitee of the World Glaucoma Association (WGA), it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the "Glaucoma in Africa" summit, scheduled for August 6th-7th, 2010, in Accra, Ghana. The WGA has provided financial and administrative support for this important meeting.

As you will see from the program, this meeting is different from most regular ophthalmological meetings.

The main aim of this unique summit is to enhance recognition, education and management of Glaucoma in Africa. A second goal, equally important, is to set up an efficient communication system between International Glaucoma organizations, Academic programs, Specialists, Industry, NGO's and our African colleagues.

During the 2 days of the meeting we shall thoroughly discuss issues which are relevant to our goals. Active discussions among experts in and out of Africa together with several frontal lectures and courses will hopefully be translated into practical steps to improve Glaucoma management in the continent. There will be approximately 40 experts in the panels, but the large audience of delegates from all over Africa will be encouraged to actively participate in the discussions as well.

Please be informed that registration to the meeting is complimentary for eyecare providers. Industry representatives are requested to contact the WGA Executive Office if they would be interested to participate in the meeting.

The meeting will take place at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra.
The World Glaucoma Association looks forward to welcoming you to this important summit.

Sincerely,

S. Melamed, L. Herndon, T. Shaarawy

WGPC, the organizing sub-committee
